Local food banks need your help to stock their pantries and prevent hunger in Southeast Florida! Join us for our Third Annual GSSEF “Feeding Florida Together” Food Drive, and help us to collect non-perishable food items during the month of March 2011 and through April 2. We can do it! Place food collection boxes in your local churches, schools, daycare centers, grocery stores, etc. and get your entire community involved. Then, take your donation to one of our pre-selected beneficiaries between Monday, March 7 and Saturday, April 2, 2011 and have your donation weighed-in (during normal business hours).
Only troops who donate food directly to one of our beneficiaries during this timeframe will have contributed to our overall goal and will receive a FREE 2011 Food Drive patch. Patches will be available and distributed at the Service Unit level once the Food Drive has ended. First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth place prizes will be awarded to the troops with the greatest poundage overall.
Participants may choose to collect food from their community or families within the Unit/Troop – or choose to purchase food with proceeds from the treasury.
