Through Girl Scouting, girls become leaders in their daily lives and prepare for their bright futures. Girl Scout product sale activities, such as the Girl Scout Cookie Program and our Nut,Candy and Magazine Sale Program, provide important ingredients for leadership by helping girls develop five key skills: Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills and Business Ethics. Girls are able to earn valuable rewards for their efforts and Troops earn money towards fun and exciting girl-planned program activities, as well as to contribute to our Council’s ability to provide Girl Scouting in the community.
Staying Safe Is Our Priority
Girls and adults should review the Product Sale and Online Activity Checkpoints before participating in any money earning activity, as well as any materials regarding product sale safety from our Council and the vendor. Girls should print out the Internet Safety Pledge and sign it with a parent or guardian.
The Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program
The Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program typically begins in January and runs about 3 weeks. Girls sell cookies at booths, door-to-door, and to friends and family. Goal setting is a primary part of the program, and many girls work to achieve rewards. Our top sellers sell 1,000 or more boxes of cookies and are inducted as members of the Extreme Team.
The Nut, Candy and Magazine Sale Program
Held each fall from October 1 to November 15, the Nut, Candy and Magazine Sale Program provides a great opportunity for girls to earn fun and valuable rewards and Troops to earn start up funds to support Girl Scout activities. Girls sell quality nut and candy items developed specifically for Girl Scouts by Ashdon Farms, as well as a selection of hundreds of popular magazine subscriptions at competitive prices.
