Early Bird Re-registration 2017-2018

Early Bird Re-registration continues through May 15
Each Spring you can re-register girls and adults for the next Girl Scout Membership year, which ensures a seamless transition from year-to-year and allows your troop to earn fun rewards.

Early Bird Gets the WORM:  April 1 – May 15, 2017
So, if your troop really digs Girl Scouts then Early Bird re-registration is for you!  And this year, Early Birds get the WORM!

FAQ's

Who can participate in Early Bird Re-Registration?

Everyone registered by MARCH 31 are eligible to participate in Early Bird re-registration. The annual registration fee for the 2017 – 2018 membership year, October 1 – September 30, is $40 for girls and $25 for adults.

What are the Early Bird Guidelines?

All individually registered girls and troops must submit their online re-registration with payment by 11:59 p.m. on May 15 to be considered an Early Bird.

All girls who are re-registered during Early Bird will receive the exclusive Early Bird patch!

Troops must re-register 80% of their currently registered girls AND two Leaders to be eligible for the 2017-2018 Early Bird cookie incentives and drawings.

Can’t remember your MY GS login? That’s ok…just email troopsupport@gssef.org and our Troop Support Specialists will follow up with you.

Why should I be an Early Bird?

Early Bird re-registration ensures girls a place in the troop and allows the Leader to know how many new girls she can add throughout the year.

Troops may utilize funds from the Troop Treasury to re-register girls easily with the money earned together all year long.

For families that do pay for their girl to be re-registered as an individual or with her troop, we find there are fewer financial burdens in the Spring than in the Fall. (i.e. school supplies, uniforms, etc.)

Best of all, there are WORMderful incentives!

How to renew your Troop (re-register) during Early Bird

Troops - follow these steps below and see a walk-through of the process, step-by-step in easy to view (screen shots) here.

1. Go to http://www.gssef.org and login to your MyGS account.

    Need help? Contact troopsupport@gssef.org

2. Click the Member Profile button in the drop down menu.

3. Select the Troops tab. If you have more than one troop, select the troop you will be renewing.

4. In the upper right hand corner, make sure you have selected Next Year in the drop down box.

5. For each member you would like to renew, select Renew, from the drop down under the Renewal Choice column. I'll Decide Later or Do Not Renew are also options if you are uncertain if a specific member is not planning to renew their membership. See descriptions below for the renewal options.

Renew = Member is coming back next year (yay!)

I'll Decide Later = You're not renewing them at this moment, but may want to before the end of this Girl Scout year. * Use this option if you intend to register troop members each week to be included in the Weekly Worm drawings!

Do Not Renew = Member is NOT coming back next year (only click this if you are certain the member is not returning. If this option is selected you will NOT be able to renew this member in your MY GS the next time you log in and will need to contact customercare@gssef.org to have the option reset)

6. If you are adding a girl or adult member to your troop, select from the drop box at the bottom of the page and click Go. Once their profile information is added, click Continue.

7. Enter payment information, review your order and print your itemized receipt. You're all set for next year!

Adult Renewal & Background Checks: With our membership registration system, adults that renew membership and select a role that requires a background check will be automatically prompted to complete a background check if they are due for an update. Per GSUSA, background checks must be renewed every three years.

If you need to update your background check simply follow the automatic prompts (and be sure to look for an email from theadvocates@verifiedvolunteers.com in your inbox and SPAM folders to complete the process). Once the system has sent your email to renew your background check, you will not have access to renew members of the troop until the background check is complete. However, co-leaders with current background checks and parents can still renew during this time.

*Coupon books are excluded from double proceeds prize.

**The fine print

While you only have to register one Early Bird eligible troop member (girl or leader) in order to participate in the drawing, you must meet the Early Bird eligibility requirements in full (80% of girls in troop and two Leaders registered) by 11:59 p.m. on May 15th in order to collect your prize.  Failure to meet all eligibility requirements by the conclusion of the Early Bird period will result in WORM forfeiture.

One entry per troop per weekly WORM drawing maximum.

You may only win one (1) weekly WORM per troop.  Once a weekly WORM is won, your troop will not be eligible for additional weekly WORMs.  Keep in mind you must meet the Early Bird eligibility requirements in full in order to collect your prize.  Failure to meet all eligibility requirements by the conclusion of the Early Bird period will result in WORM forfeiture.

In the event of WORM forfeiture, another drawing will be held from that week’s drawing pool to identify a new weekly WORM winner.

Weekly WORM eligibility ends at 11:59 p.m. each Monday and weekly WORM drawings will be conducted via Facebook LIVE on the GSSEF Facebook page at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday; dates indicated above.

All weekly WORM winners are eligible to be included in the WORMtacular Grand Prize drawings in May and November 2017.

Unless specifically stated, transportation and meals are not included in any weekly WORM packages.

WORM winners must adhere to all GSSEF Volunteer Policies and Procedures when redeeming their WORM.

The Council reserves the right to substitute a WORM of equal value, if necessary, and will only do so in consultation with the WORM winner.

Weekly WORMs have no cash value; WORM substitution is not allowed.

WORMs are presented at the Council’s discretion and all decisions made are final.
