The 2014 GSSEF Annual Recognition Ceremony will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014. This incredible ceremony honors our top adult volunteers for Appreciation Pin, Honor Pin, Thanks and Thanks II – as well as girls who earn the Silver and Gold Awards too. If you are looking for inspiration – this IS the place to BE!

GSSEF service centers and retail stores will be closed Wednesday, February 12  due to an offsite staff meeting.  Service centers and retail stores will reopen on Thursday, February 13 and resume their normal hours of operation.

Grimaldi's GS Cookie Cheesecake posterGrimaldi’s Pizzeria, famous for its award-winning, hand-tossed, coal-fired brick oven pizzas and calzones, is partnering with Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida by featuring Girl Scout cookie-inspired cheesecakes to celebrate National Girl Scout Cookie Day on Friday, February 7.

Starting February 7, Grimaldi’s will introduce the Thin Mint Cheesecake along with the Samoa Cheesecake made from the delicious Samoa cookie. The Thin Mint Cheesecake will be a chocolate mint cheesecake with pieces of Thin Mint cookie mixed in, a Thin Mint crust and topped with whipped cream. The Samoa Cheesecake will be a caramel cheesecake topped with caramel glaze and toasted coconut, on top of a Samoa cookie crust and finished with a chocolate drizzle and whipped cream. These special cheesecakes will be available for $5 a slice while supplies last at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, located in Palm Beach Gardens at the Downtown at the Gardens complex, 11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave., Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. All proceeds from the sale of the Thin Mint Cheesecake and Samoa Cheesecake will be donated to Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida.

“It’s wonderful to be able to collaborate with a local restaurant like Grimaldi’s Pizzeria,” said Denise Valz, CEO of Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida. “Their support helps showcase our Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program, which is the largest girl-led financial literacy program in the country.” At just $4 a box, the Cookie Sale Program provides an important ingredient for leadership by helping girls develop five key skills: Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills and Business Ethics. Grimaldi’s Pizzeria will continue to offer its traditional dessert menu for guests to choose from which includes: Tiramisu, housemade Cheesecakes—New York Style or Oreo Cookie—priced at $5 each and Grimaldi’s Famous Cannoli for $4.50.



OOh It’s So Good!

On Friday, February 7, in celebration of National Girl Scout Cookie Day, an episode of the nationally syndicated cooking show, Mr. Food, will showcase Girl Scout Cookies! Mr. Food will be creating mini grasshopper pies using Thin Mints. The episode features footage of girls from our Council and has them joining Mr. Food at the end of the segment tasting the dessert and delivering the show’s tagline. In our area, the episode will air during the WFLX Fox 29 morning news from 7 AM – 9 AM.
