Why Girl Scouts
The Girl Scout Leadership Experience emphasis three keys to leadership – Discover, Connect and Take Action. Girls have the opportunity to discover themselves and their values, connect with others in their community and take action to make the world a better place.
Our programs and activities help girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increased understanding, skill and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide a foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills and cooperation with others. In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together. It is our hope that the girls will have fun learning about themselves as they explore the world around them.
Girl Scouts has age-appropriate programs that meet the needs of today’s girls. They may register individually or as members of a group or troop that explore everything from camping to careers. The Girl Scout program is flexible and offers many ways to participate that fit their schedule, lifestyle and level of interest.
