Financial Assistance

We strive to offer all girls the opportunity to be a Girl Scout. In order to lessen the financial barriers that may limit participation, we offer funds to assist those who need it.

Financial assistance is not intended to be the primary funding source for members or troops. Troops are encouraged to participate in our Council’s annual money earning opportunities, the Fall Product and Cookie Sale programs.

Financial assistance allocations are subject to availability within the Council’s current annual budget. All applications are held confidentially by the Council and are not shared with third parties.

New Girl Membership

This type of Financial Assistance is available to girls who want a one-year Girl Scout membership with GSSEF. The Girl Scout membership year runs October 1-September 30 annually.

To request financial assistance for membership registration, click “Join Today” below.  Follow the registration screen prompts and check the box for "Financial Aid" on the payment page; clicking continue to confirm the request. Be sure to follow the registration process to the last page!

You will be notified by email if Financial Assistance is granted.  

 

Volunteer Training Registration

This type of Financial Assistance is available to adult members who are currently registered adult volunteers with Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida. It provides up to $50.00 per Girl Scout year for training opportunities. The Girl Scout membership year runs October 1 - September 30 annually. Examples of adult volunteer training opportunities include: Troop Camp Training (aka. TCT), Canoeing, Archery, First Aid/CPR and enrichment opportunities. Financial Assistance that is granted for training that is not sponsored by GSSEF is paid directly to the provider.

Girl Program Registration

This type of Financial Assistance is available to girl members who are currently registered with GSSEF and provides up to $30.00 per Girl Scout year for Council-sponsored program registration available through our Activities Calendar and for Service Unit Camporee/Ingathering registration. Requests are accepted February 1- July 31 annually, to allow troops and girls time to generate funds through their Fall Product and Cookie Sale programs. Financial Assistance that is granted for a Service Unit Camporee/Ingathering is paid directly to the Service Unit.

Girl Uniform and Program Materials

This type of Financial Assistance is available to girl members who are currently registered with GSSEF and provides up to $25.00 per Girl Scout year for the purchase of uniform components and/or grade-level handbooks/Journey books at a GSSEF Retail Store. The Girl Scout membership year runs October 1-September 30 annually.
