Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Program Series

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Series is focused on educating Girl Scouts on history and topics surrounding communities and identity groups that they may or may not belong to. This will lead them to greater understanding of these communities and their cultures, how our differences should be celebrated, their own identity, and how they can educate others.

After attending a DEI program, Girl Scouts will be able to…

  • Discuss the highlighted community and its culture
  • Understand the rich history of the highlighted community
  • Recognize the impact that the highlighted community has had in the world

The DEI Series will include seven new patches that will be released in 2022 and 2023. As each new patch is released (based upon the schedule below), GSSEF will host a virtual event for Girl Scouts to be the first to earn the patch through a fun, interactive, and engaging program. The curriculum will then be released on the GSSEF website two months after the program for Girl Scouts who would like to earn the patch on their own and purchase it through the GSSEF retail shop. While patches are designed for specific celebratory dates/months, Girl Scouts can complete them any time of year, individually or with their troop!
