Journey books take girls at every grade level through a series of Discover, Connect, and Take Action experiences, with emphasis on inviting girls to “Take Action” on issues they care about. These books also contain stories; inspirational ideas; information about Girl Scout history, traditions, and values; facts and games; and provide space for girls to collect their own ideas and memories. Journey books are available for purchase in our Retail Stores.

So What is a Leadership Journey?

A leadership journey is an exciting series of themed activities focused on building specific leadership skills. All the leadership keys of Discover, Connect, and Take Action along with the Girl Scout processes of Girl Led, Cooperative Learning, and Learning by Doing are woven through each journey. In a Girl Scout journey, awards link experiences, discussions and ideas that girls explore together. Journeys are fully customizable by girls and volunteers. Girls now have a series of three National Leadership Journeys to choose from:

• It’s Your World – Change It! guides girls on how they can use their voice to advocate and make positive changes that will have an effect on their community as well as an impact on their view of the world. 
• It’s Your Planet – Love It!  has an environmental theme and invites girls to explore the natural wonders of the world, become stewards of our fragile planet, and investigate the science that keeps our Earth spinning.
• It’s Your Story – Tell It!  has a storytelling theme that is grade level relevant and fun. An emphasis is placed on self-esteem and creative expression, healthy living, and media literacy.
