Camp Nocatee in Hendry County exemplifies its “peaceful river” name with ancient waters that are integral to the surrounding rich agricultural lands. Known for the black soil that produces most of the sugar for the United States, this camp desperately needs enhanced security, pavilions, and roof replacements.

Completed in 2024 and built by Camp Nocatee Ranger Mike Huber, this impressive range has two lanes with two targets in each lane. The Hatchet Range is accessible free of charge for Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts and adults at camporees and GSSEF-sponsored events at Camp Nocatee.
