Better our community one service project at a time
As Girl Scouts we promise to “help people at all times” and “make the world a better place”. What better way to demonstrate our commitment to Girl Scouting than providing community service! Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida provides opportunities for everyone to come together year-round to participate in council-wide community service projects.
Earth Defenders 
October 1-31, 2024
Calling all Earth Defenders- our planet needs your help! We are tasking you with the job of making the world a better and greener place this October during our council-wide community service project. Whether you've been an Earth Defender before or this is your first year, you can join in to save our planet!
What you do is up to you, just be sure that your service project is focused on helping our environment. Decide as a troop (or on your own) what it is you care about most and then get to work! Do your own research to figure out how to make the biggest impact in your community. The possibilities are endless!
As an Earth Defender, you will need to keep track of your efforts and submit a report (as a troop or as an individual) with a photo of your hard work at the end of your project to earn a fun patch!

In October 2024, 576 Girl Scouts from 68 Troops across 17 Service Units served as Earth Defenders, completing projects that made big impacts in their local communities. Girls hosted cleanups at local beaches, cleared hurricane debris from parks and neighborhoods, encouraged shoppers to swap plastic for reusable bags, planted gardens to encourage pollinators, and so much more.

Feeding Florida Together
April 1-30, 2024
Every spring, Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida work together to organize food drives and feed our communities as part of our council-wide community service project. We ask that troops or families gather together to start their food drive during the month of April. You can donate to any organization you would like and we have some suggested recipient sites below.
Girl Scouts can choose to donate their time instead of donating goods. A minimum of 3 hours (or one volunteer shift) must be completed at an organization battling hunger in our community to qualify for the free patch.
In order to receive the FREE Feeding Florida Together 2024 patch, your troop must complete the online donation form by May 6, 2024. The first 1500 GSSEF Girl Scout participants will receive a patch.
