Adult Recognition Awards

The 2022 Adult Recognition Award Nominations are open from Jan 1 - March 15, 2022

Start keeping track of who you would like to nominate now, and be sure to get in your submissions before cookie sales begin! Mark your calendars for this recognition activity that begins Jan 1, 2022. Nominate a phenomenal volunteer for an Adult Recognition Award to recognize them for their hard work and dedication that makes Girl Scout experiences fun and positive! The Adult Recognition Award nominations are designed to acknowledge outstanding accomplishments that go above and beyond what is expected of our volunteers.

The submission deadline is March 15, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Noon

Community Awards

We want to be able to show our appreciation to local businesses, organizations, or groups that have provided contributions of service in forms of facility, financial support, or other benefits, in real-time. Your request will be processed by Customer Care and a certificate will be emailed to you, honoring your community partner, for you to print and deliver.

Community Awards will be available to request, year-round through the online Community Award Form.

Time-Frame of Service

The time-frame for this nomination term is for services performed January 1 - December 31, 2021. Some of the higher awards will ask for information prior to this time-frame. Nominations must be completed in full, which include all accompanying endorsement letters, by March 15, 2022.

About the Awards

Volunteer of Excellence

This award recognizes an individual who has contributed significantly for at least the past year by partnering directly with girls to share the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through use of the National Program Portfolio or who has contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission-delivery to girl and/or adult members.

Additional required criteria:

Must be a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer in good standing.
Length of service will have extended over a period of 1 or more consecutive years.
Endorsement Letters Required: 1

Appreciation Pin

This award recognizes an individual’s exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience with a measurable impact on at least one geographic area of service (i.e. Service Unit) and helped the Council reach and surpass its mission-delivery goals for that area.

Additional required criteria:

Must be a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer in good standing.
Length of service will have extended over a period of 2 or more cumulative years.
Endorsement Letters Required: 2

Honor Pin

This award recognizes an individual’s exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, which has had measurable impact on two or more geographic areas of service (e.g. Service Units, counties, etc.), allowing the council to reach and surpass its mission-delivery goals.

Additional required criteria:

Must be a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer in good standing.
Length of service will have extended over a period of 3 or more cumulative years.
Endorsement Letters Required: 3

Thanks Badge

This award honors an individual who has demonstrated an ongoing commitment with the highest levels of community leadership and mission advocacy. The individual has demonstrated an exceptional and measurable impact, with their actions, that advance the goals and priorities of the entire Council or Girl Scout Movement.

Additional required criteria:

Must be a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer in good standing.
Length of service will have extended over a period of at least 4 or more cumulative years.
The individual will have successfully held at least 2 adult volunteer positions with the Girl Scout Movement.
Endorsement Letters Required: 4

Thanks Badge II

This award honors a previous Thanks Badge recipient who has continued to increase their sphere of influence, resulting in a measurable impact that benefits the entire Girl Scout Movement.

Additional required criteria:

Must be a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer in good standing.
Must have received the Thanks Badge (from any Girl Scout Council).
Length of service will have extended over a period of at least 5 or more cumulative years since receiving the Thanks Badge in one or multiple adult positions, with sustained, continued service, or increased services to the Council or the Girl Scout Movement.
Endorsement Letters Required: 4

President's Award

This award recognizes the efforts of a Service Unit team, committee, task force, or volunteer team whose collective service supports the delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and has a measurable impact. The endorsement letter must list all volunteer members, how the group surpassed goals, and how they contributed to one or more Council goals in membership growth and retention, fund development, community visibility, or advocacy.

Additional required criteria:

Must be a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer in good standing.
Length of service will have extended over a period of 1 or more years.
Endorsement Letters Required: 1

Community Award

The Community Award recognizes a business, organization, or group that has provided considerable contributions of service in forms of facility, financial support or other benefits to the Council. No endorsement letters are required. This award will be available year-round to honor community partners as needed.

Additional information:

Support was given in the last 12 months.
Certificates for this award will be available as needed by nominee through the completion of this online form.

Family Award

The Family Award honors a family (2 people or more) who have made a special and significant contribution to the Council or Girl Scout Movement.

Additional required criteria:

At least one adult must be a registered Girl Scout adult member in good standing.
Length of service will have extended over a period of 3 or more cumulative years.
Endorsement Letters Required: 3
