First, the Girl Scouts will participate in a beach cleanup on Juno
Beach with materials provided by Loggerhead Marinelife Center. then,
Loggerhead Marinelife staff will lead the Girl Scouts through a guided
tour of the Outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital to meet the patients and learn
about their stories. The group will then engage in a classroom session
about Sea Turtle morphology and adaptations. The Girl Scouts are then
welcome to explore the coastal exhibits and center on their own with
their troop/group.
Objectives:
1. Discover what
makes sea turtles unique and important to the oceans.
2.
Understand threats that sea turtles are facing.
3. Learn about
sea turtle biology and adaptations.
4. Explore how you can make
a change and better our oceans.
Girl Scouts Love Sea
Turtles Council's Own Badge is included in the program fee.
