Date: Sat Nov 08, 8:30 AM EST - Sat Nov 08, 1:00 PM EST
S.M.A.R.T. Cookie is our council-wide, big-energy
program that gets girls ready for greatness by giving them a ton of
activities to gear up for a Cookie Sale that's fun for troops and
families. Everyone starts the day with a pep-rally-style kick off
before girls head to Badge-earning homerooms, Troop Leaders take their
masters-level session on planning, management, and sale logistics, and
family members get a class brimming with all the info about how to
support Cookie-selling-Girl-Scouts. S.M.A.R.T. Cookie
finishes with all the pomp, circumstance, and celebration
you'd expect for our "graduates" - Girl Scouts will cross
the stage with product-knowledge confidence, customer service skills,
marketing know-how, and that she's-got-a-goal glow!
S.M.A.R.T. Cookie is for Daisy, Brownie, and Junior
Girl Scouts who want to increase their financial literacy, understand
goal setting and boost their overall cookie selling expertise by
getting S.M.A.R.T. - that's Savvy, Motivated, Artistic, Responsible,
and Technical!
Selling cookies helps Girl Scouts grow strong and confident and
helps their troop do fun and helpful things, too! Here's what Girl
Scouts learn when they participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program:
-
Setting Goals
- They learn how to make a
plan like how many boxes to sell and what they want to do with
the money (like go to camp or help others!).
-
Making Decisions
- They choose where and
how to sell cookies, like setting up a booth or asking
neighbors. They also pick rewards they want to earn!
-
Handling Money
- They practice counting
money, making change, and keeping track of their sales. It's
like running a mini business!
-
Talking to People
- They learn to speak
kindly and clearly, ask customers to buy cookies, and say
"thank you" even if someone says no.
-
Being Honest and Responsible
- They keep
their promises, show up on time, and always tell the truth. That
helps everyone trust them!
Here's what we can promise this year's graduates:
- Girls who attend our S.M.A.R.T. Cookie program will sell
more cookies.
- Girls who attend our S.M.A.R.T. Cookie program will
understand and apply the five essential skills to their
lives.
- Family members who attend our S.M.A.R.T. Cookie program will
better understand the process and have more fun helping their
girls.
