Get ready to embark on an extraordinary journey at this year's STEMapalooza as we go on a Magic School Bus worthy journey to explore an overload of the -ologies!  

 

Step into a world of curiosity and wonder where Girl Scouts, family, friends and the community have the chance to dive into a variety of fascinating science careers and discover the magic of STEM learning through hands-on adventures.  

  

This incredible event will provide participants with an exclusive afterhours access to the Museum of Discovery and Science as they explore biology, astronomy, geology, and more in a way that makes science come alive! 

 

STEMapalooza will be anything but ordinary, featuring activities, interactive experiments, movies, engaging talks from real-life scientists, and a chance to connect with fellow curious minds! This event promises an unforgettable journey of discovery and fun. From the tiniest molecules to the farthest stars, there's no limit to what we'll uncover together.  

 

What are you getting:  

  • AFTER HOURS access to the entire Museum of Discovery and Science

    • Entomology - Discover the science behind pest control in everyday environments with Truly Nolen  

    • Criminology - Uncover the secrets of forensic science with real-world insights from the Broward Sheriff's Office. 

    • Meteorology - Chat with WSVN Channel 7's Vivian Gonzalez and explore how weather works from someone who forecasts it daily. 

    • Oceanography - Explore Earth's final frontier-our oceans-with the experts at the Marine Research Hub. 

    • Graphology - See how handwriting blends science and self-expression in an interactive experience with the Museum of Graffiti. 

    • More -ologies are being discovered everyday! 

 Program Fee:    

  • Registration is open until August 15  

    • $40 per GSSEF Girl Scout  

    • $40 per Out of Council Girl Scout  

    • $40 per Non-Member Girl/Child  

    • $30 per GSSEF Adult  

    • $30 per Out of Council Adult  

    • $30 per Non-Member Adult   

Program Fee Includes:   

  • Admission STEMapalooza 

  • Admission to the Museum of Discovery and Science   

  • Admission to IMAX Documentary 

  • Access to the program activities, and demos  

  • Exclusive event fun patch

  • Registration will close on  Aug 15, 2024 at 11:59 PM.  

General Location:   

  • This Program will take place near Ft. Lauderdale. 

  • The exact address can be found in your MYGS after completing your registration for this program. It will also be included in the confirmation letter.  

Adult Supervision:  

  • This is NOT a drop off event! Girls must be supervised by a troop leader or registered adult volunteers.  All adults must be registered to attend the program. 

  • Tagalongs are NOT permitted for this event.

Program Confirmation:  

  • Once you have registered you can find the program information by logging into your MYGS account, going to My Events and selecting the event. There you will be able to find the exact location. A confirmation email will be sent out prior to the scheduled program with all the necessary information. If you register after this time, you will need to contact customer care for information.  

Financial Aid:  

  • Financial Assistance is available to Girl Scouts that have a current membership with GSSEF.  

  • Each Girl Scout is allotted a total of $30 for each membership year (October 1 - September 30) 

  • Requesting Financial Aid does not guarantee registration for a program.  

Program Funding:  

  • Our programs are made possible with funding from grants. To help justify this funding, we have been asked to have participants complete a pre/post survey relating to this program. We thank you for your cooperation in helping to provide our Girl Scouts with amazing programs.

  • A Girl Scout membership is $40 a year. 

  • Adult membership is $25 a year. 

  • Our membership year runs from October 1 to September 30

  • Monday - Thursday 8AM - 6PM 

  • Friday - Closed
