Date: Sun Aug 17, 3:00 PM EDT - Sun Aug 17, 4:00 PM EDT
In this dynamic, one-hour virtual experience, Juniors and Cadettes
will explore what it means to be confident, authentic, and proud of
who they are-inside and out. Through engaging group discussion,
historical context, short video clips, and interactive Zoom polls,
girls will examine the messages they receive about beauty and
self-worth while celebrating their individuality.
Together, we'll:
- Reflect on what our bodies help us do and why that
matters
- Compare past and present beauty standards
- Uncover how media and advertising shape perceptions
- Talk about real beauty, authenticity, and lifting others up
- Recognize hidden messages and challenge harmful stereotypes
- Celebrate what makes each of us unique
Girls will complete all the necessary steps to earn the
Uniquely Us badge (Juniors) and Outside the Mirror
badge (Cadettes) at their respective levels. Participants will also
receive a downloadable reflection sheet to continue the conversation
after the session.
This program is designed to be inclusive and age-appropriate for
both levels. While content is layered for developmentally appropriate
engagement, girls will remain together throughout the entire session,
encouraging cross-level conversation and shared learning.
Let's come together to build confidence, question unrealistic
beauty standards, and walk away proud of who we are-just as we are.
