A special outdoor experience designed just for adult volunteers to
step into the world of Girl Scout outdoor adventure. This immersive
day gives grown-ups the chance to explore the same exciting outdoor
activities their Girl Scouts will enjoy. It's a hands-on opportunity
to build confidence, learn new skills, and gain firsthand knowledge of
the outdoor pillar while networking with other adult volunteers.
Whether you're a troop leader, parent volunteer, or simply curious,
this day is all about connecting with nature, trying something new,
and having fun-just like a Girl Scout! Come ready to play, learn, and
leave feeling more prepared and inspired to support your Girl Scouts
on their own outdoor journeys.
Activities available will
be introductions to the following: Canoeing, Outdoor Cooking, Hiking,
Archery, Flag Ceremony/Retirement, and Knife Safety Skills. Activities
will be held in 45-minute sessions. There will be a sign-up sent out
the week of the program to choose your 4 sessions for the day.
Attending Adult Try-It Adventure day will not train or certify
you to lead girls in activities that have this requirement going
forward but will provide a foundation to prepare you to register for
the adult trainings in the future.
