How do I know what courses to take?

Some courses may be assigned to you by virtue of your volunteer role (Troop Leader, Service Unit Volunteer, Product Sale Manager, etc.). These will be found directly on your gsLearn dashboard.

Occasionally a course assigned to you might be mandatory and/or have a time limit for completion (example: New Leader Training), but most courses are available to you without conditions.

Courses and learning paths in the Content Library can be filtered by category or topic, or searched if you know the name of the course.

The Content Library also contains Movement-wide courses and learning paths created by GSUSA that may enhance your learning experience.

What if I start a class and get interrupted?

When completing a course it may be paused, stopped, and restarted as needed without losing your progress.

Will I be able to see all of my previously completd courses?

Every effort will be made to have an accurate record of each learner’s essential course completions and certifications available to view in gsLearn, based on current data. However, adding those records will take time and we thank you for your patience as we continue to upload records over the coming months.

I took a CPR/AED class or other training outside of GSSEF. Can that also be tracked in gsLearn?

Yes. You may upload completion certificates for courses not taken through GSSEF to gsLearn through the External Learning tab in Achievements. Your external courses will be viewable in Achievements separately from your regular gsLearn course completions.

STEM Badge in a Box for Troops
BIAB SFMC

Our council's newest resource for troop leaders is our STEM Badge in a Box program. Our hope with this program is that we will be able to provide you and your troop with the guidance, as well as the materials, to successfully complete this badge requirement. Leaders will be able to reserve boxes that contain everything your troop will need to earn their Grade-level STEM Badges. Throughout the year we will add more boxes to increase the variety of grades and types of Badges.  Learn more and reserve your box today >>

This program is provided in partnership with Palm Beach County Youth Services Department.

Linking Leaders Monthly E-Newsletter

Linking Leaders, a monthly e-newsletter, has been created just for troop leaders of Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida. This e-communication features lots of information that is specific to the important role you play as leaders and mentors to the girls in our council. It is sent via email on a monthly basis to leaders. If you are an active troop leader, but do not receive this newsletter and would like to, please send an email to cutomercare@gssef.org with your request.

Safety Activity Checkpoints

Read or download Safety Activity Checkpoints (updated April 2020).

If a Safety Activity Checkpoint does not exist for an activity you and the girls are interested in, check with the council before making any definite plans with the girls. A few activities are allowed only with written council pre-approval and only for girls 12 and over, while some are off-limits completely. If you have a question about a SAC requirement or activity approval, please email customercare@gssef.org. You may also consult the GSSEF Volunteer Policies and Procedures and Volunteer Essentials Manual for additional information.
