Overnight Camp (formerly known as Resident Camp) is a time for campers to build their confidence and independence in an environment where they are empowered by their peers and camp staff to try new things. Girls spending their summer at Camp Welaka spend their days enjoying exciting activities, including making new friends, exploring the great outdoors, and enjoying classic camp activities, including archery/slingshots, canoeing & paddle-boarding, hiking, crafts, pool time, F.O.B (quiet/rest time), and more.

Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is our teen leadership program that prepares campers for their transition from camper to camp staff. This leadership training takes place over three weeks and engages older girls in a higher level of responsibility and freedom at camp.
As CIT’s, they will have class time to learn about camp policies and procedures, staff structure and responsibilities, and program planning and execution. CIT’s spend one week in classes, one week observing camp staff and the final week interacting and working with the younger girls in their unit.
