Why support girls in Girl Scouting? Because at Girl Scouts, we know that when given the opportunity, girls change the world, and we have the reach and experience to help girls everywhere lead.

Your investment will help us bring the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to more girls, enabling them to discover what’s important to them, connect with their community, and take action to make the world a better place. We believe every girl has an important role to play. When girls succeed, so does society. We are committed to making Girl Scouting available to every girl that wants to take part. By removing the financial barriers and providing financial assistance to support participating in programs and activities, we ensure that we are able to bring Girl Scouting to even more girls.

Thank you for considering an investment in Girl Scout’s commitment to ensuring every girl reaches her fullest potential

Daisy's Circle

We all want the best for our girls. We know Girl Scouts works—the research is clear. Girl Scout alumni are more likely to graduate from college, earn more money, vote, and be active volunteers. But we can’t provide quality experiences for girls and volunteers without support from people like you.

That’s why we have Daisy’s Circle, our easy (and fun!) way to support Girl Scouts through monthly giving.  By making a monthly contribution, you will be giving girls life-changing experiences and opportunities through Girl Scouting each and every month. Monthly contributions of an amount of your choice will be automatically deducted from your debit or credit card each month.

FAQs
What is a matching gift?

Many companies set aside special funds each year to match contributions their employees make to qualified nonprofit organizations. The amount of the match is a matter of company policy, but it varies from 50 cents for each dollar, up to $2 and even $3 in some cases. It might also vary from year to year.

Where do I submit/send my matching gift form?

Companies use different methods for employees to submit their matching gift forms. Some are online and others use a paper form that will need to be filled out and sent to us. If your company uses a paper form, please mail it to the address below or scan and email it to kbenson@gssef.org.

Must I be a full-time active employee to have my contribution matched?

Not necessarily. Most organizations match part-time employees and retirees. Many also match spouses, annuitants, and directors. Some companies even give matching dollars for volunteer hours their employees give to qualified organizations.

Are there any restrictions on how much I contribute in order to be matched?

Most companies have a minimum contribution they will match usually around $25 and a maximum annual amount, anywhere from $1000 to $10,000.

Is there a time limit on eligibility?

Companies do require that we complete and return the form within a set time period, usually 90 days. We recommend that you submit the form at the same time you make your contribution, or as soon thereafter as possible.

* Any payment that is received for which there is no GSSEF Form on file, or received within thirty (30) days of the payment receipt date, will be treated as a gift to the council.

How long does it take for the gift to be matched?

The process varies from one company to another. Some companies issue their matching payments only once or twice a year, so it may take as much as a year for your gift to be matched.

Planned Giving & The Juliette Low Society

For the Future of Girls and the Girls of the Future

In March 1912, Juliette Gordon Low gathered 18 girls in Savannah, Georgia, and began the Movement we know as Girl Scouts. Juliette’s outstanding leadership was matched by her stewardship. She converted the carriage house of her home into the first Girl Scouts national headquarters, and she gifted the property to the Girl Scouts in her will. Her bequest was the beginning of planned giving to Girl Scouts.

The Juliette Gordon Low Society was established to thank and honor friends of Girl Scouting who, like Juliette, choose to make Girl Scouts part of their legacy and a beneficiary of their estate.

When you make a planned gift to Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida, you bestow the gift of Girl Scouting to future generations of girls. Your thoughtful and generous gift will support and sustain Girl Scouting and will extend your involvement with the Movement beyond your lifetime.  Your legacy will shine through the smiles, the laughter and the achievements of Girl Scouts for years to come.

Providing a gift to Girl Scouts in your estate plans can include naming Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida as beneficiary of a:

  • Will
  • Retirement Plan
  • Living Trust
  • Donor-Advised Fund
  • Life Insurance Policy
  • Charitable Gift Annuity
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
  • Charitable Lead Trust
  • Remainder Gift of Real Estate
  • Any other gifts benefitting Girl Scouts in the future

Here is the Juliette Gordon Low Society Commitment Form.

Gifts of all sizes are important and welcomed by Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida. Disclosure of gift amount is not required; however we would like to know about your decision to include us in your estate planning so that we can show our appreciation for your generous gift.

To design a gift that benefits the people and organizations you care about most, we recommend that you obtain the professional counsel of an attorney who specializes in estate planning. We can work with your advisors to help you plan for tomorrow and receive maximum benefits today.

Give Camp, Give Fun!
Give Camp, Give Fun!

Summer camp 2022 is on! Now more than ever, it is a crucial part of Girl Scouting. Being outdoors and away from technology will allow campers to continue building connections and social skills, discover themselves while exploring nature, and challenge themselves in new ways. It’s an opportunity to be bold, be brave, and unlock endless potential.

This summer is going to be a little different, like most things this past year. However, the magic of summer camp will remain – friends, activities, counselors, and kayaking. Your support ensures Camp Welaka will be a safe inspiring space for girls to experience outdoor adventure this summer.

Girl Scouts has a long tradition of getting girls into nature. Whether they are learning basic survival skills, going on a hike or cooking over a campfire, every girl deserves the chance to explore the great outdoors.

Why is summer camp important?

  • Camp builds problem-solvers! Girls with more frequent outdoor experiences are more likely to seek challenges and are better at solving problems—qualities that will help them embark on a lifetime of leadership, both academically and personally in the future.
  • Camp exposes girls to new experiences! Girl Scout camp gives them a chance to build on their skills or try new outdoor activities. Stimulating activities like camp over the summer months also helps prevent summer learning loss.
  • Camp builds courage and confidence! Research shows spending time in nature improves concentration and creative reasoning. Outdoor experiences also help promote healthy social development and increase her self-esteem.

Whether a girl’s favorite camp memory is roasting marshmallows, canoeing, or nature hikes under the moonlight, she is better because of it. Please consider donating to Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida today to make Summer Camp her greatest memory of 2022.

You can make a difference today by giving the most wonderful gift of having fun with friends again while safely hiking, canoeing, learning outdoor skills, and so much more. Thank you for your continued support and for always being our partner in offering girls opportunities to thrive and grow. It means more than you know.
