Move over, Rover! Today, the cats take center stage in a WILD CareerSpark! with Panther Ridge Conservation Center, a world class sanctuary dedicated to educating the public about the plight of big (and small) cats in their native habitats.
If there's one thing Girl Scouts love, it's animals! From a Brownie earning her Pets badge to an Ambassador completing a Gold Award project aimed at teaching her community about the importance of honeybees, our girls are always on the lookout for ways to help their furry friends! Now, she can put that passion to action by learning if she has what it takes to care for some of the biggest, and cutest, cats out there!
In a special keeper talk not usually available to the public, girls will hear all about how to care for these cats from the people who love them most, their keepers, and learn how to create their own paths to a career in animal care and conservation.
Then, girls will embark on a private, girl Scouts only tour of the facility and meet the Center's 26 animal ambassadors while hearing about what makes each species, and each indivisual cat, unique and how keepers need to adapt to keep each and every resident happy and healthy.
We reccomend bringing plenty of water as well as hats/sunscreen as there is not much shade on the property. All paths are outdoor walking paths. Guest will be required to walk over some slightly uneven terrain. Nothing about the walk is strenuous. All visitors will be required to stay at a pre-determined safe distance. At no time will guests interact with any of the cats physically.

Adult Supervision:
- THIS IS NOT A DROP-OFF EVENT. All girls participating in this event must be supervised by a troop leader or registered adult volunteer.
- Tagalongs are NOT permitted for this event

- Once you have registered, you can find the program information by logging in to your MyGS account, going to My Events, and selecting the event. There, you will be able to find the exact location. A confirmation email will be sent out with all the necessary information. If you register after this time you will need to contact customer care for information.
Program Funding:
- Our programs are made possible with funding from grants. To justify this funding, we have been asked to have participants complete a pre/post survey related to this program. We thank you for your cooperation in helping to provide our Girl Scouts with amazing programs.
